Classes:

Hay (16 inch bale slice)

  1. First cutting —grass
  2. First cutting —mixed legume + grass
  3. First cutting —all legume
  4. Second cutting —grass
  5. Second cutting —mixed legume + grass
  6. Second cutting all legume
  7. Haylage —2008 crop
  8. Corm Silage, 2007 crop
  9. Silage Corn (4 full ears w/ husks) (2008 crop)

Rules & Regulations:

  1. Exhibits must be at the forage exhibit location at the Carroll County Agriculture Tent by 8AM, Saturday morning.
  2. Exhibits should be marked by exhibitor as to class with forms provided when entry is dropped off on Friday or before 8AM Saturday. Each entry needs to be properly labeled including; Name, Mailing Address and Telephone Number.
  3. All varieties will be accepted if properly marked and identified. Superintendent reserves the right to place variety in another class if it is incorrectly identified or not marked completely.
  4. Ribbons will be displayed on exhibit throughout the fair.
  5. Exhibitors will receive ribbons and premiums through the mail after the fair from the Carroll County Farm Bureau.
  6. Each Exhibitor is permitted one entry per class. With exception of Class 6, all entries must be produced on exhibitor’s farm in 2008.
  7. Corn Silage and Haylage should be exhibited in one-gallon clear large mouth jar.
  8. Best in Show award is for greatest variety of good forage from one farm.
  9. All entries must be grown in Carroll County.
